A Link to the Past
Map Wrap
A map wrap is a transition glitch on the overworld where a transition on the edge of the map is used. The player will "wrap" to the other side of the overworld map when this happens.
Explanation
The game normally doesn't expose any transitions on the edge of the map in-bounds. Because of this, map wraps are accompanied by some combination of other glitches to get Link to a position where he can use a transition on the map boundary.
On the destination screen after the map wrap, the game will usually be in a volatile state where hardlocks and infinite scrolls are easily activated. Entrances to the underworld can still be used though. If the player uses an entrance on the main underworld map (any dungeon entrance or cave/house with multiple entrances from the overworld), the overworld will be in a normal state upon exiting. But if the player uses an entrance on the secondary map (any cave/house with a single overworld entrance), the overworld will remain in a broken state upon exiting.
